Selfridges

At some point coinciding with the UK release of Empire in 1980, I managed to get some access to an exhibition of props and pictures at Selfridges. Once again, it appears that just asking was the easy way to get a yes. So, armed only with a camera and a pair of eye, I took loads of pictures. Like those from the exhibition at the museum, these have suffered the ravages of time both in quality and quantity. But they have been scanned in are here seen in the wild for the fist time in 30 years. I apologise now for the quality.

Being on my own, I was unable to get a picture of myself standing next to any of the characters. Somewhere out there, someone has a photo that they took of some lucky idiot standing amongst the props taking pictures.

 

                                                       

R2 was lit, issuing random noises, and the backdrop had flashing lights and illuminated screens
